What are games? Basically games are for fun and enjoyment. Both children and adolescents play these games. Nowadays there are online games and with the help of Internet facility these games can be easily downloaded. People enjoy these games during their leisure time. Games play as an escape from reality at some time. This means when people are bucked up from their daily routines and try to escape from their work they start playing games so, they start finding out time for their enjoyment. At this time games play a vital role. The people who are aware of this facility of games online enjoy the advantages of games. The other people who do not have Internet facility are cut off from online games. So, they can play other instrument type games such as X-box or Television Video games.

KDE (K Desktop Environment) is software which is free of cost. Basically it aims as a powerful network system for easy using of desktop environment. The ambition of this project is to provide and facilitate the basic functions of desktop. It also provides the applications, tools and documents of daily routine
needs and requirements. These things help the developers to stand-alone and write their applications. The KDE project solves the purpose of stand-alone applications and small projects which are based on KDE technology. The small projects are K Office, Amarok, K3b and K develop.

KDE games constitute game packages, which are written for K Desktop environment. These packages are kdegames-board, kdegames, kdegames-arcade, kdegames-card and kdegames-tactic. There are varieties of games under each category. The first category kdegames include games kpatience, knetwalk and kmines. Kmines game is a computer game played by a single-player. The main motive of the game is to clear the mine area without knocking a mine.
The screen of the game comprises of squares made in rectangular field. In this game the square is cleared or uncovered when the player clicks on it. The square containing the mine if clicked by the player then the game gets over.
And if the square does not comprise of mine there are situations which may tend to happen such as the figure appears which indicates the amount of adjacent squares that contain mines. The second situation appears when the game clears adjacent squares to an empty box, and then the number automatically appears. A player wins the game when all the squares do not contain mine that need to be cleared. The time taken to clear the mines in squares is the score of the game.

Squares so cleared which themselves are empty (do not contain a number of adjacent mines) have their neighbors recursively cleared as well. The game is won when all squares that do not contain a mine are cleared; the score is the time taken to do so.
